Population: 1,196 habitants
Weather: Paracas has an average temperature of 18° degrees and sun all the year.
Inside of the great variety of species that lives in the Reserve you will find:
Mammals: the Coast ‘s fox, marine cat, sea lions and dolphins.
Birds: The flamenco, the penguin, The Andean Condor, Incan Terns, Guano birds, The Chorlos and Los playeritos.
Reptiles: the marine turtles, small lizards and Los gekos.
Fish: la anchoveta, el pejerrey, la chita, el lenguado, la cojinova and el caballito de mar o hipocampo.
Besides in Paracas, you’ll find the Museum of place Julio C. Tello.
IN THE NATIONAL RESERVE OF PARACAS YOU´LL VISIT :
Bahía of Paracas: Area of rest and alimentation of migratory birds such as Los flamencos
Museum Julio C. Tello: At one side the Center of Visitants. It has representative’s samples of the Paracas Culture such as the Mantos (Inca textiles), mummies and pottery.
Beaches La Mina, Lagunillas and el Raspón: of sand’s substrate, small surge and clears waters ideals for the recreation.
Beach Yumaque: Another Favorite beach by the swimmers. You must take care because this is a place of bird’s anidation.
La Catedral and Los Frayles: are rock formations in the coast , produced by the erosion of the wind and the sea. It is possible to visit the interior of La Cathedral (tower).
Punta Arquillo: Natural Mirador (sight seeing viewpoint) since there we can see colonies of fines sea wolfs marines.
BALLESTAS ISLANDS :
The Ballestas Islands are islands, which are placed in front of the National Reserve of Paracas, in the road we‘ll appreciate the Famous Candelabrum. This island lodges seals, sea lions, Humbolt ‘s penguin, Cormoranes, Piqueros and others Guano Birds. Therefore this islands are given in concession for the explotation of Guano.
