Cusco is known by its Quechua name “Qosqo” that one interprets as “Navel of the World” and is that Cusco – Peru was the center of the Tahuantinsuyo.In Peru, Cusco represents one of the most important cities for the tourism cultural because inside is the oldest Inca Citadel called Machu Picchu, besides the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas from the Cusco represented by Pisaq, Lamay, Traces, Urubamba, Yucay, Ollantaytambo, Maras crossed by the Vilcanota river where are practiced adventure sports or rafting.

QORICANCHA     Located in El Sol and Santo Domingo St., this is a Dominican church and convent. Its interior walls were covered by gold plates. As can be seen, the construction of the sanctuary used, as its base, the magnificent blocks of stone finely carved by the Incas.
THE CATEDRAL Located on the Main Square. The front and interior are of Renaissance style. The interior is decorated with wooden carvings on cedar and alder. Also important are the choir, pulpit, woodcarvings found on altars and furniture, as well as paintings of important artists and silver works.

SACSAYHUAMAN :      Located 1.2 miles (2 Km) away from Cusco and about 10 minutes by car. It is an enormous construction of Inca times built as three platforms that are an average of 1,181 ft. (360 m) long. Stairs and stone doors connect the platforms. One of these doors is 30 ft. (9 m) high and 16 ft. (5 m) wide
QENKO : Located 1.8 miles (3 km) away from Cusco and about 15 minutes by car from the city. To 6 km to the northeast from Cusco city (around 15 minutes by car) It is thought to be a place of worship.

PUKAPUKARA:      Located 3.7 miles (6 Km) away from Cusco and about 30 minutes by car. It was an administrative and military center formed by irrigation terraces, stairs, passages, towers and vaulted niches.
TAMBOMACHAY    Located 4.3 miles (7 Km) away from Cusco and about 35 minutes by car from the city. Known as the Inca Baths, it is considered a place where water was worshipped.

Visit the archeological city of Machu Picchu, located at 7.874 feet above sea level and 112 Km from Cusco. Early morning transportation to the train station. During the trip, you go through the Sacred Valley of Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes. The journey Cusco/Aguas Calientes takes aprox. 3:30 hrs. The train route goes parallel to the river through winding paths among typical high jungle vegetation. Arrival to Aguas Calientes station, where you will board tourist transportation minibuses, which after 8 Km of ascent, take you to the top of the mountain, arriving to Machu Picchu Ruins. The guided visit to the archeological Machu Picchu includes passing by its urban area, which contains the major architectonic elements on the Inca city, having as its main sights: the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwatana, the group of the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Mausoleum, etc. Buffet Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel ( in the ruins) or at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel (in Aguas CAlientes). Return to Cusco in the afternoon, pick up at the station and transport to the hotel in Cusco.

The Citadel of Choquequirao is located more than 3000 meters above sea level, in Santa Teresa district, province La Convención, Cusco (limit with Apurímac), and covers 1810 hectares, the same as Machu Picchu. This complex was conceived on the folds of an Andean plateau, and that makes easier an extraordinary view to the side of Rio Blanco, Apurímac canyon and Salcantay snow-covered.The architectural urban conception includes temples to the sun, to the land, a real residence, stores, residence for a permanent population of fountains and producers of goods and services, irrigation ditches, and fountain rituals. The recovery works detected almost 30 archaeological groups and remainders of the Inca Trail. According to Guillermo Lumbreras an interesting researcher, should be mentioned that Choquequirao have been an urban centre, portion of a great project that was not finished. The riverside settlers of Apurimac River declare that Choquequirao was the place where the last Incas took refuge, when they went out from Cusco after the defeat of Manco Inca and they resisted for 40 years the Spanish invasion. The better months to visit Choquequirao could be from April to November, because they are the months of dry season. THE MAIN STRUCTURES: Choquequirao is an Inca settlement conformed by dispersed places, built in masonry of stone, which constitute a complex “Metropolis”. ENTRY ROUTES: The entry is by the town of Cachora (Apurimac) by the time is the most frequented, by means of a bridle track of 1.80 m. wide, covering 29.8 km. of distance. This trip takes 12 hours.
